A retro garage R&B duo out of Austin, Texas, the Greyhounds, comprised of guitarist, singer, and songwriter Andrew Trube and singer, songwriter, and keyboardist Anthony Farrell, have been together in one form or another for some 15 years, and while they've released a couple of prior albums (the most recent being Liberty from ), this set is the duo's first on an established label, Ardent. This album defies classification. Rock? Yep. Soul? Sure. R&B? Oh yeah. Blues? Go it. Greyhounds are top notch musicians, and very impressive song writers. Both guys sing with a distinct style, so you get two very different, yet equally awesome vocalists. Why haven't you bought this album yet? Get it, groove it, and pass the word/5(19). Reply

Nov 10,  · ALBUM REVIEW: GREYHOUNDS, “Accumulator” “Soul Navigator” gets right to the Memphis heart of the matter with Steve Cropper-styled guitar runs and a tight rhythm that immediately nods to the finger-snapping sounds of Stax in their heyday; Anthony Trube has a voice that fits perfectly in that soul/groove mode – natural, not forced. The album features guest vocals by Ani DiFranco. The album was named Liberty as a tribute to the time spent in the theatre while composing the material for the album. Greyhounds opened the tour of American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. In the late s and early s Trube and Farrell performed as part of the touring band of JJ Grey & Mofro. Reply
