Jokingly named for the band’s invasion of Richmond to record it, “Northern Aggression’’ is the first album from Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3 in five years. The record kicks off with a look back. Opening song “Resolution’’ is inescapably reminiscent of Wynn’s celebrated ’80s band, the Dream Syndicate. Reply

It's the third straight masterpiece from Steve Wynn. This one harkens back to the early Dream Syndicate sound more so than any other Wynn solo lps, which is a good thing. Both Wynn and lead guitarist Jason Victor have developed a chemisrty akin to Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd/5(10). Reply

Despite the album cover's Velvet Underground reference, this outing is more in line with RAGGED GLORY-era Neil Young & Crazy Horse, as evidenced by the blistering "Turn of the Tide." Wynn also indulges in some fast-paced, punk-influenced numbers, including the aptly titled "Wired" and the surging "Wild Mercury," making this disc yet another /5(8). Reply

Sep 12,  · Many thanks for a well-written and interesting article about the Paisley Underground. I have had the pleasure of collaborating with several of the Paisley Underground veterans: played Long Ryders-songs with Sid Griffin on a Paisley Underground celebration in London, opened for Chuck Prophet as well as for Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3 in my home town Stockholm, had Chris Cacavas . Songwriter Steve Wynn, the former Dream Syndicate frontman, has been on a tear since when he offered Melting in the edarbrigwaytrandeveguglitangolfsyn.coinfo then, his records have featured howling, wailing rock & roll and deep, dark acoustic reflections -- all of them bearing his trademark noir-ish lyrics that offer the shadowy side of life, love, and violence.7/ Reply

"Ry Cooder vs. Steve Wynn: Cooder, one of the finest rock guitarists alive, has recently returned from Cuban music for a trilogy of albums about California. “I, Flathead,” the last, is the most direct. Wynn, the former leader of the Dream Syndicate, has a long solo career filled . Reply
